General Description

Garland Farms is located in the rolling foothills of North Georgia on 160 acres. There are approximately 60 acres of pasture offering ample grazing and romping room for the horses. The additional 100 acres provides a beautiful hardwood buffer from the rest of the world and quiet, safe riding trails where deer, turkey and other wildlife can be seen on a regular basis.

The horses on full board are housed in one of our 20 stalls and enjoy 2 meals per day and overnight turnout. The horses on outside board are kept in one of several large wooded paddocks adjoining the pastures where they enjoy 2 meals per day and overnight turnout. The paddocks provide cool shade in the summer and protection from the winter winds.

Our facility is a training center and boasts some of the nicest facilities for riding and training in the southeast United States. Our oversized indoor arena has soft sand and wood chip footing, a 20x60 meter dressage ring, mirrors, lights, and an attached, climate-controlled lounge with a viewing area for arena activities. We also have a 28x60 meter outdoor arena with sand footing and a fenced 20x40 meter arena nestled in the woods. A low level cross-country course and plenty of water on the property rounds out the training possibilities.

Because we are a training center, we offer our facility only to those interested in partaking in our training programs. In this way our clients are protected from situations where they would have to share the facility with riders of other disciplines. Since Garland Farms focuses on dressage and combined training, our clients also have the advantage of participating in clinics with international trainers and judges, and related educational activities. Our clients also further their educational experience through involvement and fellowship with other participants at the farm.

Our Philosophy

At Garland Farms, you can expect the best, whether you are looking for a horse to buy, a stallion to breed to, or quality dressage instruction and training. Dressage is a never ending journey and we do our best to ensure our clients enjoy themselves along the way. The horses we breed and sell have good temperments, movement, and training to excel in either dressage or jumping. Education in classical dressage is the emphasis over competition, but clients are encouraged to compete to measure their progress if they wish. Since everyone shares common goals, there are many strong friendships that result between the horses and people associated with Garland Farms.
