Elisa Krueger manages Garland Farms. She tends to the horses' daily needs, training and is the Resident Instructor. With 20 plus years of varied experience she easily develops a bond of trust and respect with each horse and rider she works with.
At age 5 Elisa began her equestrian career. Emma was a wonderful first partner. As all children do Elisa quickly outgrew her Pony and moved on to her first horse, Alaska. By 8 years old she was competing in Competitive Trail Rides and at 11 she placed in her first 3 Phase Event. For the next 7 years the demands of Dressage and the thrill of Jumping was an irresistible combination for her. The summers found Elisa counseling at Equestrian Summer Camp and then on to an apprentice position with German International Dressage FEI Competitor Suzanne Hopmann. Where she was able to gain vast experience riding imported warmbloods in both Dressage and Jumping.
She endured a brief hiatus from horses spending time traveling in Europe and going to College before her hunger for horses lead her home again. A job offer training and showing horses for a Nevada based Arabian Facility moved her out west. There she competed the horses in Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers and Sport Horses in Hand. Winning several California Dressage Society year-end awards in both the 1999 and 2000 show seasons and many Regional Awards as well.
Over
the years Elisa's studies have included Herbology
and Kinesiology for her
Equine partners. Her ability to
communicate with the horse and to teach the rider these communication skills
both on the ground and from the saddle is uncanny.
Her unyielding compassion for the horse and intuitive feel for the rider
make her truly a gifted teacher.
